Studio Tonic are pleased to share images of Minotaur Exploration's recently completed commercial office.

The design philosophy used geological striations and desert earth as a direction for the details of the project, with the natural movement and compressions of earth creating interesting forms and colours. The joinery took on these forms, and highlighted strongly the grain and texture of the new Laminex Impressions range.

This commercial fitout utilised some existing built form in the tenancy, whilst creating new open workstation areas with access to natural light.  Also new for Minotaur is a large, light and bright team breakout and meeting space.

A few touches of home were also utilised, to create a comfortable feel for staff who spend time in the field. Frames were provided at each desk for Minotaur to personalise, and other groupings are scattered around the office. Many of the great photos were taken by staff whilst on exploration digs.

A more moody and corporate feel was created in the Executive Suite, which houses the boardroom, meeting room together with a large quiet room.  This multi function space can be utilised as a small meeting room, boardroom ante room or temporary office for visiting consultants.

Minotaur Exploration are now working in their new Norwood based office, with thrilled staff already utilising the variety of activity based workspaces created in this budget driven, yet comfortable and creatively designed fitout.

Studio Tonic creates space to play!

We are excited to share our latest health care project for the COMIC Foundation at Lyell McEwin Hospital. This project brief was to provide a happy and fun environment for the children of mental health in patients during their stay. It involved a multi-functional indoor area for playing, studying, gaming and just hanging out and being together. Additional upgrade of an existing outdoor courtyard ensured we could also introduce blackboards, a cubby and some fantastic ground stencilling and wall graphics provided by Walls That Talk.

This project was fund raised by volunteers representing the Governors Leadership Program and with the support of many generous suppliers (see listing below).  We appreciate your allowing us to lead you so willingly! Mossop Construction and Interiors provided construction and project management with much support and dollar stretching!

We enjoyed working on this project very much.  We hope you like it.

Studio Tonic and the Amber Nectar

Studio Tonic are pleased to share images of the recently completed Carlton United Brewery headquarters in Adelaide.  The double storey custom built 950m2 complex encompasses an office space accommodating some 40 persons with team meeting facilities, warehousing for sales and promotional material, training and breakout spaces for staff and customers.

The fitout also required a customer interface for CUB to share and promote its beer products and promotional materials with its staff and customers.  The team at Studio Tonic worked closely with the newly created branding and style guide to create a fresh template for this important flexible space.  Being the first office rollout since the creation of the Fosters Beer arm, it is anticipated that Studio Tonic's concept will be used in future rollouts across the country.

With a tight time frame and conservative budget, as always, having a great client and build team to work with ensured a successful final completion.  And, believe it or not, the fridges weren't on site whilst we worked on the project!

Studio Tonic celebrates with Wine

What an alcoholic few months we have had!  Studio Tonic was engaged by National Wine Industry representatives, Wine Australia, Winemaker's Federation of Australia, Grape and Wine and Research and Development Corporation and the Wine Grape Growers Association. This consortium wished to return to its roots at Industry House. The double storey 1,000m2 office building is co-located at the National Wine Centre, Botanic Road, Hackney.

The dynamic and vibrant boardroom and breakout spaces can be linked together with operable walls, as well as open onto a newly created outdoor eating area overlooking grape vines. The striking carpet is reminiscent of aerial views of vineyard regions and was custom coloured by Studio Tonic for the project.

The iconic curved rammed earth building provided a strong backdrop for Studio Tonic's design concept, with fitout colours and textures sourced from nature.  By removing built form within the space to create an open workspace environment, light and fabulous botanic views are made available to all staff members.

Small nods to the wine industry, from grape growing to wine making and the end product, are subtly visible throughout. Graphic elements applied to glazing film, and to workstations, were stylised from hillside vineyards, vines, leaves, and the bubbles in sparkling wine!

The client group have had excellent feedback from their staff and visitors, who are settling into their fabulous new environment, taking full advantage of the breakout and outdoor eating area during the summer months.

Thanks to the trust and faith of the clients, the Wine Australia Consortium fitout is another successful project for Studio Tonic.
